HebTroCo is a British menswear brand that started as a "drunk idea" and accidentally became a manufacturing movement. Founded in 2016 by friends Brant Richards and Ed Oxley, the company was born in a pub in Hebden Bridge—historically known as "Trouser Town" for its textile output. Lamenting the loss of local industry, they launched a Kickstarter to produce a single batch of 176 trousers in the town's last surviving factory. When the stock sold out in five hours, they accidentally founded a company.
The brand operates with a militant "Made in the North" philosophy, producing rugged, functional clothing entirely within the UK to support dwindling regional factories. They are best known for their Moleskin Trousers, made from the dense, wind-resistant brushed cotton that once clothed the region's industrial workforce, and their heavyweight Governor denim. Unlike the heritage cosplay of some brands, HebTroCo’s marketing is hilariously blunt and self-deprecating, famously selling out of their "Action Blanket" (essentially a wool poncho) by pitching it as a tool for drinking beer outside without freezing.
