Born from an undying love for mid-century Americana, TCB Jeans was founded by Hajime Inoue! After years working in the Japanese garment industry and repairing vintage sewing machines, Inoue took a gamble and opened his own sewing factory in 2008, launching the TCB label shortly after. The name playfully holds a double meaning: "Taking Care of Business" and "Two Cats Brand," a nod to his feline obsession. The brand's philosophy revolves around meticulous, no-shortcut vintage reproduction, painstakingly recreating the exact details of iconic mid-century denim. Surrounded by the nation's best textile artisans, the company is proudly based in Kojima, Okayama, Japan.
TCB is legendary for its obsession with historical accuracy. They utilize proprietary fabrics woven slowly on vintage shuttle looms to replicate the exact slub and unevenness of old-school denim. Their iconic 50s models feature 13.5oz unsanforized Zimbabwean cotton, while their 60s cuts utilize 13oz San Joaquin Valley cotton. Construction relies heavily on antique Union Special sewing machines that Inoue personally maintains, creating authentic puckering and chain-stitched hems. Uniquely operating their own factory, all TCB Jeans clothes are meticulously made in-house in Kojima, Japan.
