Iron Heart is a Japanese brand founded by Shinichi Haraki in 2003, originally aimed at motorcyclists who needed rugged, long-lasting clothing that could withstand serious wear. The label quickly became known for its ultra-heavyweight denim, often 21oz or more, which was far thicker and tougher than typical jeans on the market. Over time, Iron Heart expanded into shirts, jackets, and other workwear-inspired garments, but always with the same commitment to strength, durability, and classic style.
Production takes place in Japan, with many items made in the Okayama region, the heart of Japanese denim. They use high-quality Zimbabwean cotton for many of their denims, chosen for its long staple fibers that provide both durability and a smooth hand. Iron Heart also experiments with specialized fabrics like indigo-dyed herringbone, duck canvas, and flannels woven with extra-thick yarns.
While rooted in motorcycle culture, Iron Heart has gained a broader following among denim enthusiasts and those who appreciate garments built to last. Despite the evolution of styles, the brand’s focus on heavyweight fabrics, precise construction, and timeless cuts remains unchanged.
