Bordon Handmade Boots

USA$$ Footwear Leather Heritage

Born from a profound desire to address a lack of high-quality heritage footwear in their local market, Bordon Handmade Boots was founded in 2018. Initially producing in Spain and Italy, the brand completely pivoted during the pandemic to bring their vision home. Their philosophy explicitly rejects the fast-fashion cycle and planned obsolescence. Instead, they operate entirely on a made-to-order model, significantly reducing waste while keeping their heavy-duty boots surprisingly accessible by cutting out retail middlemen. This small-batch, direct-to-consumer approach means an estimated wait time that can stretch from nine to eighteen months—but the result is footwear that is genuinely built to last a lifetime. Committing to sustainable, in-house production, the company is proudly based in Colombia.

Bordon operates with an impressive dedication to traditional, heavy-duty artisan techniques. They source the finest raw materials globally, utilizing rugged upper leathers from legendary North American tanneries like Wickett and Craig and Horween, alongside premium wax suedes from gold-rated Italian suppliers. The boots feature robust stitch-down double-row or hand-welted construction, making them fully resoleable and highly water-resistant. Resting on genuine cork filler, steel shanks, and thick vegetable-tanned leather insoles, they are finished with durable Vibram or Dainite outsoles. Fulfilling their mission to elevate local craftsmanship, all Bordon boots are 100% handmade in Colombia.
