Founded in 2023 by David Corey, Oldspeed MFG is an independent bootmaking operation based in Media, Pennsylvania. Frustrated by disappointing modern footwear, Corey established the company with a profound dedication to preserving and expanding traditional American shoemaking. The brand's philosophy centers on uncompromising craftsmanship, sustainability, and ethical production, entirely avoiding industry shortcuts. Operating as a one-person workshop, Oldspeed MFG rejects mass-market manufacturing in favor of producing incredibly limited, handcrafted footwear designed for lifelong utility and beautiful aging.
Oldspeed MFG employs rigorous, entirely manual construction methods for every single pair of boots they produce. Their builds feature hand-clicked uppers, hand-skived vegetable-tanned heel counters, and meticulously hand-lasted traditional stitchdown constructions. The boots utilize premium materials sourced from historic American tanneries, heavily featuring upper leathers from Horween, Seidel, and Wickett & Craig. Internal structural components are robust and entirely natural, utilizing ultra-thick 13 to 15 oz vegetable-tanned leather from Missouri's Hermann Oak Leather Co. for the midsoles, all sitting atop durable Vibram or Dr. Sole outsoles. Every single pair of Oldspeed boots is exclusively handmade from start to finish by Corey himself directly in his Media, Pennsylvania workshop.
